Honestly, if I had an extra $550 (+tax&shipping) to purchase this tablet and it's accompanying keyboard I wouldn't have hesitated. For the money you get a number of things, including:
- Tablet/Netbook combination. Perfect whether you just want to site and play Angry Birds, catch up with friends on Facebook, or you're looking to do some serious emailing.
- Dual Core Processor. Unlike the netbooks of old or even your current single core smartphone, this sucker will cruise around even the most hefty websites and apps.
- Android Operating System. How can you go wrong with a little 3.0 Honeycomb? It's the best of the smartphone OS that you know and love, made for tablets.
- Wifi & Bluetooth. Pretty much standard on tablets nowadays but good to note none the less.
- 16 GB Memory & 1GB Ram. Again, plenty of power packed into this thing. A decent amount of storage space for the price, and includes slots for microSD and microSDHC cards if you're in need of more space. You can of course always supplement your storage by also using cloud storage such as Dropbox, Picasa, Google Docs, Etc...
- 10.1 in. 1280x800 LED Touch Screen. What can I say, sounds great to me. Big enough for watching your favorite You Tube videos and small enough to use comfortably as a tablet.
- 5MP Rear & 1.2MP Front Cameras. I can't see myself using the rear camera much, but for those of you who enjoy Skype or other similar software, the front camera is perfect.
- Stereo Speakers & Microphone. Built in for those of you who are Skypers or who just want to take some impromptu audio. Oh yeah, and for music of course (ahem, Pandora).
- GPS. Hey, who knows when you might have a need for navigation directions and phone use at the same time. Now you have the biggest naval system out there.
- 8 to 16 hr Battery Life. Yes, you read right, 8 hours of tablet battery life and an additional 8 hours with the keyboard attached. All day battery life without recharging... sign me up.
All-in all, I'm excited to see if the enthusiasm for this product holds up though the restocking outage and continues to sell once it's available again. If you're looking for more info there's a great review including video over at cnet.com.
